North American Deck and Railing Association offers resources to professionals and consumers
GIG HARBOR, Wash. – Jim Miller, president of Screw Products Inc., a supplier of high-quality fasteners, has been appointed by unanimous vote to the North American Deck and Railing Association’s board of directors.
NADRA, a 501(c)6 not-for-profit corporation based in Quakertown, Penn., serves as a trade association focused on safe building practices, and also helps consumers by providing information on deck safety, design, and products through programs such as Deck Safety Month®, held each May since 2006 to increase public awareness of regular inspections and maintenance of existing decks and proper installation of new decks.
NADRA’s Board members are typically industry professionals who have devoted significant time to the improvement of the deck and railing industry for both professionals and consumers; Miller has participated in several programs in the past, including the Deck For A Soldier® program, which thanks a member of the U.S. armed forces returning from a tour of duty with a new deck constructed by NADRA members who donate their time and materials. In 2011, Miller chaired Western Washington chapter’s Deck for a Soldier® build, completing a full deck for a wounded soldier and his family in Lacey, Wash.
As part of his appointment, Miller will also chair at least one NADRA committee focused on key industry concerns such as codes and standards, management education, and strategic planning.
