International Concatenated Order of Hoo-Hoo serves and promotes forest products industry.
GIG HARBOR, Wash. – Jim Miller, president of Screw Products Inc., a supplier of high-quality fasteners, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Tacoma-Olympia Club of the International Concatenated Order of Hoo-Hoo, commonly referred to as Hoo-Hoo International.
“As a relatively new member, I’m honored to have been named to the Board so soon,” Miller said. “It’s a really great opportunity to get more involved in the community, as well as make an impact on the industry.”
Hoo-Hoo is a fraternal organization founded in 1892 in Gurdon, Arkansas, and has grown into an international organization with members throughout North America, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and South Africa.
Membership is given by invitation and is extended to those who are employed in some aspect of a wood-related industry; members can be sponsored by their employer or can seek involvement independently.
As an organization focused the welfare of the forest products industry, members are dedicated to educating themselves, as well as their jurisdiction, on forestry education. Members are provided opportunities to become immersed in the social, economic and ecological aspects of sustainable forestry. Activities include international conventions, community service events and even local garage sales for builders and homeowners.
